Rudoren explains her qualificaitons
Brian sent me this: "Thought you might be interested in this correspondence with Rudoren. Four comments: 1. She writes that the illegality of the settlements is a matter of perspective, 2. She equates a flattering profile of a rabid settler with a flattering portrait of an Israeli peace activist-- it's clear what her profiles of Palestinians are going to look like-- you can be sure there will be no "balance" when it comes to Palestinians, 3. She notes that a Human Rights Watch member "loved" her portrait of Dayan, 4. and most importantly, she freely admits that she knows nothing about the region, which seems to be her main qualification for working there."
