Front Page of a pro-Saudi (formerly pro-Saddam) Iraqi newspaper
(It is the paper of former Saddam’s Goebbels, Sa`d Al-Bazzaz). Look at the picture of US soldiers.

A Shoe Museum
Deans of the Press and Publishing syndicates in Lebanon held a special event in honor of the shoe thrower. Somebody suggested opening a “special museum” for the shoe. How does one tour that museum? Like here is the shoe, and then here is the shoe and there is the shoe and here is the sock?

When the Military Balance in ME Changes
“Slovenia plans to withdraw its two military instructors deployed in Iraq by the end of the year, Defense Minister Ljubica Jelusic said.” According to sources in Iraq, the two grew very close and they always went places together, hand in hand, and would often sing to one another. How nice.

Some bad news can be good
“The developer of the King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia’s flagship mega-project, is being forced to reconsider its plans and may delay some work as the global financial crisis stymies attempts to attract foreign investment and dries up financing.”

QueenYoutube
I always say that the Economist is the best magazine there is but it was a low point when the editor asked QueenTube to write an article for them. Did he think that she will write it herself?

Those are the Palestinians
“Not only was the Gaza Strip surprisingly flush with food, but the mood on the street was remarkably upbeat. Yes, Gaza, particularly in the refugee camps, is a miserable place — overcrowded, filthy, lack of work and forced confinement in a district 1/15 the size of Prince Edward Island.”

I would bar them for UN itself, if it is up to me
“United Nations General Assembly President Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann on Tuesday charged that the Israeli delegation has spread a “malicious lie” by asserting that he tried to bar its envoy from addressing a human rights session.”
