This is a good rant by Olbermann but why did he have to preface his remarks by asserting that he is not gay? Why do heterosexuals feel the need to affirm their heterosexuality when they declare their support for homosexuals? (I must confess that I used to do that myself–shame on me).

Do you notice that Western media largely ignore attacks on gays and lesbians? “In 2006, Statistics Canada reported that one-quarter of hate crimes were motivated by religion and one in 10 by sexual orientation.
