A campaign in Lebanon to change the law on “honor crimes”. High time.
“Phares’ point is crystal clear. Academia is a vital battlefield in the struggle for hearts and minds now taking place in the larger War on Terror, and he attacks the academic enemies of democracy accordingly. For example, he hammers University of Michigan professor Juan Cole and University of California-Berkeley’s As’ad AbuKhalil for spouting propaganda from [...]

The New York Times is neutral after all: “What should the newspaper call the security system that Israel says it is building to separate its citizens from Palestinian territories? Is it a fence, with its neighborly connotations, as supporters of Israel want? Or is it a wall, like the Berlin Wall, as Palestinian supporters would [...]
Did they not blame Arabs at the time? “Police in Israel have uncovered a neo-Nazi ring which was responsible for vandalising synagogues and carrying out attacks on Jews and foreign workers in Israel, a court was told yesterday. The group of eight Russian immigrants aged between 18 and 21 appeared in court following an 18-month investigation [...]

I am of course evaluating the book not on political grounds. Those who [...]
I have not seen this interview, but according to this reviewer, Ghassan Bin Jiddu praised every Arab leader (and Al-Hurra TV).
There are clear signs that Qatar is now trying to quietly improve ties with Saudi Arabia. When that happens, Saudi Arabia will enjoy almost full control of all Arab media.
So one US puppet in Iraq is leading dialogue with Saddam’s Ba`th, and another US puppet in Afghanistan is leading dialouge with Taliban. What has changed then?
This account in Al-Quds Al-`Arabi contains some of my remarks in London.
