As-Safir published our statement against the bombardment of the Nahr Al-Barid camp:“ بيان: كرامة الوطن ليس ثمنها دم المدنيين تعرّض مخيم نهر البارد منذ ايام لهجوم عنيف من قبل الجيش اللبناني، لم يوفّر المدنيين والمناضلين الذين لا علاقة لهم مطلقا بـ«فتح الاسلام».إن الموقعين أدناه يستنكرون القصف العنيف الذي طاول المدنيين وأحد أهم خزانات المقاومة الفلسطينية […]

Hariri rag, Al-Mustaqbal, stated that after the bombing in `Alay, Jumblat’s goons made “chants condemning terrorist and criminal actions.” Of course, as was reported on New TV and in As-Safir (front page), they chanted racist and obscene slogans against the Syrian people.

Samir Ja`ja` in his press conference yesterday. Why is he smiling?

She did not want to leave the Nahr Al-Barid refugee camp.

Now the Hariri media are recruiting anti-Palestinian henchmen of the Jordanian regime to write against the Palestinians.

Faris Khashshan is probably one of the most vulgar propagandists for the Hariri family–and there is plenty of vulgar Hariri propagandists. Here, he brags that women and children in North Lebanon (supporters of Hariri Inc) clap for every shell that falls on the Nahr Al-Barid refugee camp.

This is hilarious. Hariri rag puts a picture of the US naval exercise in the Gulf on the front page. They are bragging. Oh, yeah. All the US military power is in the service of Rafiq Hariri’s kids.

The External Surge. Ibrahim Al-Amin writes about the phenomenon of the Hariri intelligence apparatus, Jihaz Al-Ma`lumat. In the article he reveals, that there is now a flight of Arab fighters from Iraq because the insurgency does not need outside assistance anymore. So the fighters are now spilling over to neighboring countries, including Lebanon. These are […]

Maybe this will explain why Lebanese nationalists are proud of their army. Palestinian refugees from Nahr Al-Barid camp are being moved to Al-Baddawi refugee camp.

Bridge of Return by Palestinian poet Tawfiq Zayyad (my translation): “My dear people!! With eyelids I roll out the path of your return, with eyelids. I embrace your wound and pick up the thorns of the path, with eyelids. With the palms of the hand, I grind the granite stone, with the palms of the […]

This just in. AMAZING. Sunni Mufti of Lebanon, Muhammad Rashid Qabbani, gave an exclusive interview to Al-Arabiya TV. He of course was installed as Mufti by Rafiq Hariri and Syrian intelligence in Lebanon. So in the course of the interview, he said (and it is true) that the Fath-Al-Islam gang is mostly non-Palestinian. He said: […]

The poem Against by Palestinian poet Rashid Husayn (my translation): “Against the revolutionaries of my country injuring a spike Against a child—any child—carrying a grenade Against my sister studying the muscles of a rifle Against whatever you want….but what does even a prophet or a prophetess to do when their eyes drink the horses of […]

Rula Abu Shaqra, of Al-Arabiya TV, reported on the displacement of the Palestinians from Nahr Al-Barid, and she ended her report by saying that “maybe it is the fate of the Palestinians.” Fate?

Lebanese (clownish) Minister of Defense, Ilyas Al-Murr–and Syrian intelligence used to insist that only his father or him can serve as Ministers of Interior during the years of Syrian political domination in Lebanon, and now he is a “an opposition figure”–spoke to Al-Arabiya TV. He confirmed that of the 50 to 60 members of Fath-Al-Islam […]

““Canada supports the Government of Lebanon’s efforts to ensure the rule of law and its monopoly on the use of force in the country, consistent with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. “I spoke to Prime Minister Fouad Siniora on Monday, May 21, to reiterate these points. He has assured me of his commitment to […]

FLASH. Walid Jumblat: He was able to identify the criminals behind the terrorist bombings in Lebanon. In a live interview on AlJazeera, he accused AlJazeera TV itself of being a “partner in crime” in all the bombings in Lebanon. He was so ridiculous in the interview, that the anchor laughed at the end when he […]

They are implying on New TV that their correspondent in `Alay, Christine Habib, was “physically” attacked by Jumblat goons. They are now implying that the goons were furious that she reported about the mob attacks on poor Syrian workers. Such regular attacks are normally kept out of the Lebanese media coverage (and out of the […]

Al-Arabiya TV and Human Rights. Al-Arabiya TV today reported about the new Amnesty International report on human rights. The reports documents human rights violations worldwide. Al-Arabiya said that the report criticized human rights violations in Israel, Darfur, and in the US. I kid you not.

Everybody I heard in the last few days, have either angered me or disappointed me: from March 14th, to Hizbullah, Gen. `Awn, to Amal, and the Lebanese Communist Party, etc. Today, I heard Sulayman Franjiyyah. He made more sense than all the rest (I never believe in the value of formal education). He was the […]

Apparently, as soon as the bomb went off in `Alay tonight, demonstrators (while chanting pro-Jumblat slogans) chased Syrian workers and beat them up. This is another form of Lebanese nationalism (another form being shelling indiscriminately Palestinian refugee camps–it always makes Lebanese proud–the same pride that many Lebanese feel when they read almost monthly in An-Nahar […]
