Does anybody, except Fox News, really care about what Dennis Ross has to say about the Middle East?

“”Israel lost big-time,” said Ravit Ben-Simon, 25, glumly reopening her cellphone store on Wednesday in nearby Kiryat Shemona. “It wasn’t a worthwhile war at all. It all started because of the kidnapped soldiers. Where are they now? Still kidnapped. It was all for nothing.””

Does Condoleezza Rice think she is being smart when she tries in an interview with a US newspaper, no less, to drive a wedge between the people of South Lebanon and Hizbullah? What does she think? That people will read the interview and say: you know, the woman who represents the administration that sanctioned and [...]

“But across Lebanon, they are systematically lifting the tons of rubble of old roofs and apartment blocks and finding families below, their arms wrapped around each other in the moment of death as their homes were beaten down upon them by the Israeli air force. By last night, they had found 61 more bodies, taking [...]

David Hirst is the kind of European foreign correspondent that we don’t have here in the US. “It is not just Hizbullah’s performance in itself that has changed the balance of power at Israel’s expense; it is the example it sets for the whole region. In his way Hassan Nasrallah is now an even more [...]

Is Lebanese Minister, Marwan Hamadi, serious? Today, he threatened to sue all those who circulate rumors about him on the internet? I mean, I have received that item that bothered him from tons of sources. Are they going to arrest them all? He even said that the will take the matter to a special prosecutor [...]

I agree with this assessment: “At this stage, and in this regard, Hezbollah will continue to call the shots – for the Lebanese government too. As such, the pre-war situation remains in place: Despite its mandate to defend the country, the Lebanese Army will still not be able to respond to an Israeli breach of [...]

Meals of Hizbullah Fighters. New TV showed us the packaged meals of Hizbullah fighters. I was most impressed. They looked quite good, and there are deserts and snacks. One was fasulya (navy beans) stew. I also saw nutritional information on the packaged food. I don’t think that you can buy them here in the US.

Those who “imitate women”. Since Israel and its supporters are now covering up for the House of Saud as a reward for its support for the Israeli war of aggression on Lebanon, I will need to report more on Saudi Arabia. The “liberal” Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan (owned by Prince Khalid Al-Faysal), reported that “security forces [...]

When Israeli intelligence fails, it lies: “About 20 Hezbollah leaders were captured by Israeli commandos.” Where are they? Who are they? What are their names? I mean, aside from the Lebanese grocer? So these 20 leaders are in Israeli custody, but Israel is just too shy to tell the world? OK.

More pangs of birth in the Middle East: “An average of more than 110 Iraqis were killed each day in July, according to the figures. The total number of civilian deaths that month, 3,438, is a 9 percent increase over the tally in June and nearly double the toll in January.”

“More generally, the participants said, the president expressed frustration that Iraqis had not come to appreciate the sacrifices the United States had made in Iraq, and was puzzled as to how a recent anti-American rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad could draw such a large crowd. “I do think he was frustrated about why [...]

The Italian newspaper, La Republica, published this today: “Hizbulla’s TV network Almanar has shown images of a Lebanese soldier serving tea to Israeli troops and a Lebanese Army general who was talking to an Israeli official smiling in the military base in Marjayoun, the Christen village in the bordering northern Israel which the Israeli captured [...]

“Al-Jazeera’s Mohammad al-Alami was evidently unsatisfied with Issa’s demand for vast U.S. spending to rebuild Lebanon, or by his photos of Lebanon’s fallen bridges and oil-soaked coastline. “You mentioned the oil slick and your concern about the eggs for the fish, and you didn’t mention 1,000 civilians who got killed,” Alami charged, “children seen all [...]
