So more than 30,000 Israeli soldiers (backed by Israeli air force and navy) are being deployed against what Israel says is no more than a 1000 Hizbullah fighters (not counting the three dead Iranian bodies still fighting the Israelis and yelling at them in Persian). OK.

The overwhelming majority of Lebanese victims are civilians (70% are women and children according to the women and children committee of Lebanese parliament–I know, what a sexist committee), while the majority of Israeli victims are soldiers.

Do you notice how bitter and resentful Walid Jumblat sounds when he mentions that Nasrallah’s stature has risen to that of Nasser? But in fairness: Jumblat is now as popular as John Bolton on “the Arab street.” This explains why US media consider Jumblat the spokesperson of the “Arab street.”
