The well-informed Damascus-based correspondent of Al-Hayat, Ibrahim Humaydi, said that the Syrian military is hosting, for the first time since the arrival–what a lousy arrival and stay–of the Ba`th to power in Syria, visiting clerics. Lebaonese media are treating the solar eclipse as if it is a special gift from “God” to the Lebanese people. As in: “o, Lebanese people. I criticized `Abdul-Bari `Atwan because on the two occasions when I saw him on Tuesday on Aljazeera criticize Arab governments for their support of US war on Iraq he left out Qatar from the list of Arab countries that supported the US.
