What’s in a year in Iraq. “Infant mortality rates have doubled since before the war. Acute malutrition among children under 5 has nearly doubled. That’s about 400,000 damaged children. One estimate says 100,000 Iraqis have died as a result of the invasion.” New York Times Magazine, December 26th, 2004.

So George W. Bush, under pressure from the American people and international public opinion, decided to increase the amount of aid to the victims of the Asian disaster. Now he is pledging to send $350 million. Every 40 hours he spends that amount on his illegal war in Iraq.
